This is due to a particular Scalextric slimline motor being used in a minority of our cars, mostly in single seaters and smaller cars. This motor draws a greater current than our standard Scalextric motor, and this additional current required to run the motor combined with the weight of the car, stronger magnatraction and overall track length can cause the dongle to temporarily shut down. Going forward, Scalextric cars produced from Spring 2021 onwards will have a new motor that will not be affected by this. It will be stated on the packaging and our website whether or not this car is compatible with the Spark Plug Wireless Dongle. For cars produced before this time, the list below can be seen as to what cars carry the Scalextric Slimline motor and therefore might not be compatible with the Spark Plug Wireless Dongle.
